Busy Day Today!~

Dear Journal,

I am writing in you to meet the requirements of writing in a journal every day for 15 minutes for my English class. I have a busy day ahead of me today! My niece is expecting her second child and her baby shower is today at 3 PM. Her baby will be my 39th great on my husband's side. I also have another niece, Leslie, who is expecting her first baby in March. I took care of Leslie when she was little so it's hard to believe she is having a baby of her own.
I only have one great on my side, a great nephew. His name is Brice and he is 20 months old. He is absolutely precious. I got to keep him for a little while yesterday. I don't think there has ever been a sweeter baby on the planet and both of my babies were good when they were little. There is just something about my little man. He's very special. He will win your heart over in a heartbeat.
Besides the baby shower, I have four chapters to read for English and two papers to write, plus I have to get my son moved and a shed cleaned out, and help my daughter make a scarecrow. Obviously, I am not going to get all of this done today, but I can sure make a stab at it! Guess I had better hop to it!
Happy Blogging!
Susan

WHAT IT IS LIKE TO HAVE A MENTAL BREAKDOWN

It is hard to put into words what it is like to have a mental breakdown. Not only is it hard to try and describe what it is like, but it is hard to talk about because you fear how people are going to react to you. So many mentally ill people have to deal with the stigma attached to the words mental illness, and end up being treated like they have leprosy. While it isn’t easy to tell my story, I feel compelled to do so.  First of all, writing is therapy for me, but I also feel like it will let others like me know that they are not alone. Perhaps, it may even help family and friends understand what it is like to live inside the mind of someone who is mentally ill, and what it is like to have a breakdown. I have been hospitalized a total of three times due to mental breakdowns.  When I was much younger, they were called nervous breakdowns, I prefer the newer term. As for what it is like, I will do my best to try and explain. Believe me, if you have never suffered from one, you...

CHRISTmas Miracles Do Happen!~

Our family, tonight, was the recipient of a CHRISTmas Miracle. We were watching TV, the story of Mark David Chapman, the man who shot John Lennon, when we received a knock on our door. It was two of my nephews and a great nephew with two HUGE boxes. I asked them what they were doing, they said, "Delivering your CHRISTmas." It was so unexpected, I didn't know what to say. Nobody really knows the extent of how bad things have been for us lately. We have lived off of boxed mac and cheese mixed with tuna or Rice-A-Roni mixed with a small can of chicken. Some nights, we might have pasta, but without the meat. We have had egg sandwiches and grilled cheese sandwiches. I have actually lost about 8 pounds, which I needed to lose, but I do not recommend doing it this way. I hugged my nephews and told them thank you. They told us Merry CHRISTmas and left. It was just that quick. When I opened the boxes, there were wrapped gifts. I did not have one gift under our tree for either of ...
