Brice

I went to see my great nephew, Brice, a few days ago. I can't believe he is already 51/2 months old! He is such a happy little fella. My Mom and I are talking in the background. At the end of the video, he starts crying and I say, "Oh darn it! Somebody done pinched my baby!" But I cut myself off after darn it. I picked him up and started playing with him. He immediately stopped crying and started laughing again. He is such a good baby. I believe my niece, April, is suffering from postpartum depression. I would ask that you keep her in your prayers/good thoughts. My best friend also just called me and told me she has to have a bone biopsy tomorrow. Please keep Toni in your prayers as well.

Thanks so much!

Susan

P.S. Hope you enjoy the video of Brice below!

Congratulations to April and Marlena on the birth of their babies, and to you being a Great Aunt. May your prayers be God's will as I will pray that the problems facing those in need will receive a blessing. I have read through your blog and Happy Birthday to all who have recently advanced a year as I did to 57. My condolences on your son's passing of years since his tragic death. I have been doing as much as possible with the help of a new worker that has good skills and with my other worker from years past. I am working about 5 hours a day from 9 in the morning until 2 p.m. and quitting because of the heat. It is as much as I can do but by continuing every day I am seeing more progress than I thought would take place. mark/salty

WHAT IT IS LIKE TO HAVE A MENTAL BREAKDOWN

It is hard to put into words what it is like to have a mental breakdown. Not only is it hard to try and describe what it is like, but it is hard to talk about because you fear how people are going to react to you. So many mentally ill people have to deal with the stigma attached to the words mental illness, and end up being treated like they have leprosy. While it isn’t easy to tell my story, I feel compelled to do so.  First of all, writing is therapy for me, but I also feel like it will let others like me know that they are not alone. Perhaps, it may even help family and friends understand what it is like to live inside the mind of someone who is mentally ill, and what it is like to have a breakdown. I have been hospitalized a total of three times due to mental breakdowns.  When I was much younger, they were called nervous breakdowns, I prefer the newer term. As for what it is like, I will do my best to try and explain. Believe me, if you have never suffered from one, you...

CHRISTmas Miracles Do Happen!~

Our family, tonight, was the recipient of a CHRISTmas Miracle. We were watching TV, the story of Mark David Chapman, the man who shot John Lennon, when we received a knock on our door. It was two of my nephews and a great nephew with two HUGE boxes. I asked them what they were doing, they said, "Delivering your CHRISTmas." It was so unexpected, I didn't know what to say. Nobody really knows the extent of how bad things have been for us lately. We have lived off of boxed mac and cheese mixed with tuna or Rice-A-Roni mixed with a small can of chicken. Some nights, we might have pasta, but without the meat. We have had egg sandwiches and grilled cheese sandwiches. I have actually lost about 8 pounds, which I needed to lose, but I do not recommend doing it this way. I hugged my nephews and told them thank you. They told us Merry CHRISTmas and left. It was just that quick. When I opened the boxes, there were wrapped gifts. I did not have one gift under our tree for either of ...
