Graduates of 2010!~

It's that time of year again! Graduation! I got so many invitations this year. Too bad I don't have pics of all the graduates that I got invitations for, but here are four who are very important to me.

The first one is my lovely great niece, Teri Marie. Teri graduated from high school. She is granddaughter to my Hubby's sister, Margaret.

The second one is my cousin's daughter, Amy. She is pictured with her Mom and Dad in the photo (Wes and Prissy). Prissy is my first cousin (my Mom's sister's daughter). Amy graduated from high school and was on the honor roll and got a softball scholarship.

The third one is my niece, Jennifer. She is pictured in the photo with her siblings, Anthony and Michelle. She graduated from college in Colorado. Wish I could have been there for that!

And last, but certainly not least, is my daughter's BFF's, Allison and Phillip. Ally just graduated from high school in S.C. and Phillip from high school here in Alabama. Wish I could have been there for Ally's too, but at least my daughter got to go and represent our family. I don't have a photo of Phillip in his cap and gown. I have many photos of Phillip, just not in his cap and gown. :(

I just want to congratulate all of the graduates of 2010 for a job well done! May you do well in your future endeavors!

God Bless!

WHAT IT IS LIKE TO HAVE A MENTAL BREAKDOWN

It is hard to put into words what it is like to have a mental breakdown. Not only is it hard to try and describe what it is like, but it is hard to talk about because you fear how people are going to react to you. So many mentally ill people have to deal with the stigma attached to the words mental illness, and end up being treated like they have leprosy. While it isn’t easy to tell my story, I feel compelled to do so.  First of all, writing is therapy for me, but I also feel like it will let others like me know that they are not alone. Perhaps, it may even help family and friends understand what it is like to live inside the mind of someone who is mentally ill, and what it is like to have a breakdown. I have been hospitalized a total of three times due to mental breakdowns.  When I was much younger, they were called nervous breakdowns, I prefer the newer term. As for what it is like, I will do my best to try and explain. Believe me, if you have never suffered from one, you...

CHRISTmas Miracles Do Happen!~

Our family, tonight, was the recipient of a CHRISTmas Miracle. We were watching TV, the story of Mark David Chapman, the man who shot John Lennon, when we received a knock on our door. It was two of my nephews and a great nephew with two HUGE boxes. I asked them what they were doing, they said, "Delivering your CHRISTmas." It was so unexpected, I didn't know what to say. Nobody really knows the extent of how bad things have been for us lately. We have lived off of boxed mac and cheese mixed with tuna or Rice-A-Roni mixed with a small can of chicken. Some nights, we might have pasta, but without the meat. We have had egg sandwiches and grilled cheese sandwiches. I have actually lost about 8 pounds, which I needed to lose, but I do not recommend doing it this way. I hugged my nephews and told them thank you. They told us Merry CHRISTmas and left. It was just that quick. When I opened the boxes, there were wrapped gifts. I did not have one gift under our tree for either of ...
