Got To Meet Two J-Land Friends!

Dear Journal,

What a great day February 6, 2010 turned out to be! My friend, Susan, has a great pyrenese named Lilly. She has been wanting a second one as a pal for Lilly. My J-Land friend, Terrie, had a puppy, Ellie that she wanted to give away. Susan called me and asked me if I would ride to Terrie's with her to pick up the puppy. I was more than happy to because I had never personally met any of my J-Land friends. I sent Terrie a message through Facebook that I would be coming with Susan. When we arrived at Terrie's, Terrie said she had asked Celeste, another J-Land friend, to come over so she could meet me as well. That was an unexpected surprise. I got to see Terrie's goats and meet Jake and Lucy (two of her great pyrenese) and see the roosters and chickens and meet Pat, Celeste's Hubby and Terry's Hubby as well. We stood around talking for a bit (it was freezing in Chicamauga, GA) and our toes were frozen, but I thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet Celeste and Pat, and Terry and her Hubby. Ellie did pretty well on the drive back home. Haven't talked to Susan today to find out how she is adapting, but I hope she is adapting well. She is such a sweet puppy. We had to go over Lookout Mountain to get to Terrie's farm. Did I mention I am PETRIFIED of heights? Nevertheless, it was a beautiful drive. I had forgotten how pretty North Alabama can be. What a wonderful day!

Til next time!

Susan

What fun to get to meet someone ... especially someone from the good ole days of J-land. I miss those journals! I miss the people, I've lost touch with so many of them. =(

Thanks for visiting me via my blog.

Prayers Needed!~

Tony and his son, Joshua. My brother-in-law, Tony, was in a bad motorcycle accident today. He has multiple injuries and is currently in ICU. Also, I may not be on much for a bit. Am having some health issues of my own. I would ask that you remember me and my family in your prayers as well. Sorry I have been so neglectful of you all lately. I hope to make it up ASAP. Lots of love!~ Susan

CHRISTmas Miracles Do Happen!~

Our family, tonight, was the recipient of a CHRISTmas Miracle. We were watching TV, the story of Mark David Chapman, the man who shot John Lennon, when we received a knock on our door. It was two of my nephews and a great nephew with two HUGE boxes. I asked them what they were doing, they said, "Delivering your CHRISTmas." It was so unexpected, I didn't know what to say. Nobody really knows the extent of how bad things have been for us lately. We have lived off of boxed mac and cheese mixed with tuna or Rice-A-Roni mixed with a small can of chicken. Some nights, we might have pasta, but without the meat. We have had egg sandwiches and grilled cheese sandwiches. I have actually lost about 8 pounds, which I needed to lose, but I do not recommend doing it this way. I hugged my nephews and told them thank you. They told us Merry CHRISTmas and left. It was just that quick. When I opened the boxes, there were wrapped gifts. I did not have one gift under our tree for either of
